Comin Khmere at the 6th Career Forum

The 6th Edition of the Career Forum that gathered over fifty exhibitors and welcomed more than 15,000 visitors on 12–13th June 2010 at Diamond Island Exhibition Centre was astonishing opportunity for young graduates and other job seekers to be able meeting face-to-face with the employers. Comin Khmere, the same as in previous years, took part in this professional meeting with the objective to attract potential candidates and to expose itself among other employers in the market. Stood at the prime location facing to the main entrance, the booth of Comin Khmere has been attracted by almost job seekers and other visitors during these two day event. As a record, more than a thousand visitors visited our booth and four hundred applications had been filled out seeking job with the company. With demands increasing for coming projects, Comin Khmere offers fifteen engineering and technical positions, of which mostly are mechanical and electrical disciplines.

Installation of Cold rooms for Zhendre in North Korea

Comin Khmere was selected by Zhendre, a French Corporation specialized in air-conditioning and refrigeration, and awarded the contract for construction of two cold rooms – 10 m3 each in volume, located separately at Pyongyang and North Hwanghae in North Korea. It is the first project Comin Khmere has ever carried out in this country. Scope of works includes the installation of equipment, electrical works, testing and commissioning. Mr. Christian Klein, Deputy Manager for Service Division has been supervising the installation there in April.

Comin Khmere at Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre

Cambodia Building Architecture & Construction World Expo 2010 has taken place from 1- 3 April 2010 at Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Ministry of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction and International Data Group (IDG), this salon is the first and only international business to business Exposition for the building & construction industry. The event has featured new construction technologies and building materials, exciting ‘green’ architectural concepts, a vision of the new cityscape and a quality lifestyle, with eco products and services. For this occasion, Comin Khmere has displayed products & services among over one hundred exhibitors and 10,000 visitors.

Vattanac Capital Project

Comin Khmere has been awarded the contract for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of all MEP works. The project commenced on 25th March 2010 for the duration of 30 months and will be led by Senior Project Manager, Mr. Mark Clift. The project, developed by Vattanac Properties Co. Ltd., is the construction of sky tower, comprising more than thirty floors for office spaces, Vattanac Bank, and stock exchange facilities. Famous engineering consulting firms ARUP and JRP have been working in partnership with Comin Khmere.

CK appointed as KONE distributor for Cambodia

After 2 years of intensive discussions, Comin Khmere has recently been appointed as KONE distributor for Cambodia. Originally from Finland, KONE is the fourth largest manufacturer of elevators and escalators worldwide. KONE develops products and services that are environmentally sound throughout their lifecycles. These innovations reduce energy consumption, oil requirements and noise levels. In the next coming months Comin Khmere will be substantially investing on trainings, tools and spare parts in order to become autonomous in the installation and maintenance of KONE products.

Project at Special Economic Zone in Sihanoukville

The infrastructural construction project of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is owned by Sihanoukville Port Authority and officially awarded to the Japanese Contractor – Daiho Corporation. Comin Khmere successfully won sub-contract for M&E works, and will carry out works related to supply and installation, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing, HVAC, design-and-build of waste water treatment plant, communication and electrical systems for a period of 20 months approximately. The works already started since 1st January 2010 under the supervision of Project Manager Mr. Chuon Sina and is subject to completion by September 2011.

Wind turbine inauguration project in Sihanoukville: A première in Cambodi

The first wind turbine ever in Cambodia constructed by Comin Khmere at Sihanoukville Port has been inaugurated on 20th January 2010. This gives the nation an opportunity to cross a step into the field of renewable energy. The program is a partnership between Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Authority, the Flemish Government and European Commission. Comin Khmere scope of works coordinated by Mr. Yon Ponnreay, Project Manager, included: 6.6 kV MV network, 0.4 kV LV network, Step up Sub-station 320 kVA including (Transformer 320 kVA, 0.4 kV/ 6.6 kVA, NE-QI Switchgear, LV switchgear) and Step down Sub-station 320 kVA including (Transformer 320 kVA, 0.4 kV/ 6.6 kVA, NE-QI Switchgear, LV switchgear). This project is an indicator, showing that the wind power can be employed in Cambodia. This experience should act as a model in the future for other ports in Cambodia as well as others in the region. While the consumption of wind energy is to efficiently save overhead cost on energy for the authority, it also contributes the friendliness to the environment.

Energy Saving Project – Phnom Penh International Airport (PPIA)

Société Concessionaire des Aéroports (SCA), which is responsible for airport management, has awarded Comin Khmere the contract for “Energy Saving Project” at PPIA since last year. There are two portions of works, which need to begin and complete in separate schedules: the first is on Aug 2009 – May 2010 and the second on Sep 2009 – Jul 2010 under management of Mr. Ma Sopheap from Contracting Division. The contracted value is about US$0.9 million for upgrading M&E systems and building management.
