Solar Systems for 7 health centers of Kandal Province

The French NGO Electriciens Sans Frontières (ESF) financed and sent a team of skilled electricians to take in charge the supervision and commissioning of a Solar Systems in seven health centers of Kandal province. The equipment was also financed by ESF.

Comin Khmere was in charge of the installation of Solar Pumping and Solar Power Systems. The work have been successfully completed last January. Most of Cambodian off-grid dispensaries are still underequipped or using inefficient equipments. These new solar systems will not only improve the conditions of these premises but also bring savings on the budget allocated to water and electricity, which are now both supplied for free. Lots of these projects were carried out in the past but none of them has been sustainable. The main reason is that the equipments failed because of wrong usage or insufficient care. To avoid that, a 3-year maintenance contract has been signed by the health center head, ESF which subsidizes half of the maintenance cost, and us who will be in charge of the maintenance. The money saved by the health center every month thanks to the solar systems will be far enough to cover the second half of the maintenance cost.
